wassup! i just came back from YCCL Youth Camp 2008 Exodus. it's a moving camp, meaning we go to a different place each day. the activities there are supposed to simulate the we as the israelites being brought out of egypt. the theme for the camp is mainly based upon the book of exodus. the theme verses are Exodus 13:17-21. we were seperated into six groups, each named after one of the 12 tribes of the israelites. my group's name is Simeon (: on the first day after playing ice breakers in church we set off for Sentosa.where the israelites are still in egypt. we played games that simulated the 10 plagues but not one group managed to complete all of it, haha. we were also to build pillars of clouds and fire using balloons, lol. we spent the night on the sapphire pavillion where it was all sandy and whatnot. we went to Camp Christine on the second day after playing some beach games. this is when the israelites have escaped egypt. we played some water games there and then attempted to build kites, haha. all the group leaders were secretly called away to build the golden calf and then to present a skit abt it's construction and destruction. the shower facilities there are limited but, oh well. the third day was the most fun. we went to sembawang park to play laser quest. it's some gun thingy that simulates real life shooting at each other using light and sensors on the guns. it's when the israelites were fighting a battle with some other people, haha. after the laser quest is something like the amazing race. we were given a piece of paper with clues and we have to walk/run to those places. the last station would be at yishun town sec (aka the Promise Land) lol. we played another water game there, a really fun one, haha. on the last day all the groups are to present a skit on a modernised version of wad happened after exodus. each group was to present certain verses. my group's was Numbers 14. cant remember the verses, haha.
all in all, a really fun camp. i definitely laughed much more in this camp than last year's. the camp song this year is called Mountain of God. it's so meaningful (: pictures some other time when i can get more of them.
